Change Coach Online are asking you to consider your mental HEALTH. This short series aims to introduce useful steps towards mental resilience. Here are some suggestions to improve things...

Each of us makes choices every day, decisions that become the life we live.
The people we surround ourselves with and invest in friendships with, how much sleep we get, our attitude to what we encounter in our day, how we treat others, how much junk we consume (diet, TV, social media etc) and overall where we choose to put our energy.
We can only truly care about a relatively small number of things, so we need to be careful about what we focus on.
Consider what you believe are your values and now consider your actions, do they line up? Are you worrying and caring about things that don't reflect your values? For example, is caring for family and friends a priority in your value system? How does your behaviour reflect that? What about honesty, is that important to you? How do you react when someone is honest with you? Are you open and ready to receive their honesty?
Understanding our own personal value system means we can avoid wasting time and effort and helps us to refocus on what our life should look like.
Accountability for our life choices removes doubt and confusion about our abilities and empowers us to make the changes we want. Being accountable also means we avoid blaming others. I was interested to learn that when we blame another person we release adrenaline. We temporarily feel energised and confident when we transfer our feelings of vulnerability to create blame we can direct at someone else. So, being accountable can be harder than we realise but for good mental health we need to try!
